Like most of my paintings, these have between three and five layers of paint on them. I am striving to paint the essence of an object blending realism and abstractions creating artwork to move people emotionally. I invite you into the conversation. Using nature as inspiration and working within the realm of my imagination, no reference photos are used. A fleeting memory of what it is to be outside, in nature. Connecting to something greater than myself I aim to create something dreamlike, a walk into the here,now and beyond what you can see and touch.

Painted in 2025. Do you love the sunset? I remember many nights fishing on the dock with my husband, peaceful and serene. A break from the working life. Inspired by the feeling of time outside, summer calling and the sound of the waves and smell of the sea.

Where the ocean meets the sky 12x12

Inspired by a love of the ocean, many days spent on the seashore, in a boat on the water – above and below. In my life I spend a lot of time walking my dog along the seashore and in the forest trails around Gibsons, admiring birds and fish interacting fueling the circle of life.

Painted in 2025.
This painting whispers come away with me. Inspired by the beauty of the mountains all around me. I used molding paste to create alot of texture and visual interest. The grey and teal toned blues give it a feeling of peace and tranquility, while the spark of red sienna and yellow ochre breath life into the subject. It would make a wonderful addition to your home. 12x12 Climbing the mountain

This painting took awhile to come together as I struggled for a good grip on color balance. The teals and violet hues add a sense of calm as the “water” falls. It has texture created with the acrylic paint and has the edges with the same style. It would make a wonderful addition to your home.

Inspired by my love of the herons and all of the walks along the seaside. Like when herons fly away after they've been scared off by a dog coming up on them by surprise, or after they've eaten their fill of fish for the day and are ready to move on.
