On the rocks
 
On the cover of Not an Island Spring 2025 edition - The literary quarterly by the Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors, based on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Inspired by the idea of a crow cawing – maybe feed me, feed me into the emptiness. There are a lot of ravens and crows on the coast. In this painting I started by painting my own collage papers and began to feel out my subject.  This painting emerged as I was prepping for a class on painting birds.  Note, texture work on the rock and glitter.
