More than one canvas that comes together to tell a story

Most of my paintings have between three and five layers of paint on them as I tend to use alot of glazes to get a real depth to the painting. It seems kind-of symbolic as we are so much more than what is on the surface. Between the layers I adds a variety of media including graphite and oil pastel. 20x84 It begins and ends with Love (5 panels)

Painted in 2024/2025.
This painting was started as 5 separate paintings after I read the book, “A Simple Path” which looks at the life of Mother Teresa and her work in Calcutta. But somewhere along the line it felt flat. It needed life breathed into it, and that happened when I joined them all together. They now tell a story.
The title of this 5 panel piece (measures 20 inches x 84 inches) is “It begins and ends with Love”
The first panel can be joined at the beginning or the end. The first piece is a pair of hands giving flowers to another – portraying the act of giving and receiving, in the top right-hand corner in a face in the layers.
The second panel has a person in prayer / meditation.
The third walks in faith with the help of the spirit.
The forth waits.
The fifth is the mother and child and from him comes the spiral (symbolic of the interconnectedness of all things through growth, expansion and connection to the divine. Spirals also symbolize the cycle of life, death, and rebirth)

72x24 The Great Divide (3 panels)

This painting is made up of three panels each measuring 24 x 24 inches. The painting “connects” as the colors and shapes move across the stage. The soft color teal on top provides a focal point into the eternal. This painting asks one to consider enlightenment, God, the universe and the beginning and end of all creation. Like all color and shape there is an alternative message in the canvas if you look beyond the obvious. The square provides a sense of order, balance, and groundedness in our physical world. Its spiritual meaning encompasses themes such as stability, protection, and the union of opposites like heaven and earth or the material and the spiritual realms.
