Title: The Traveler, walking through space and time.

A collection of abstract art pieces I have been working on in the last year. They depict the story of the internal struggle we have as we purse the question what it is to be human as we travel from birth to death in this physical body.

Workshops are all different from each other, each class encourages exploration and community. They are meant to help develop your creative ideas in a playful and imaginative way.

Please note, we are going to use the time together to experiment and try out different techniques and if you desire to have a completed piece at the end, depending on a variety of factors it may not happen. We will look more at how to start, choosing colors, making decisions while in process.

Introduction to watercolor painting!
Explore the delicate world of watercolors, watercolor pencils while painting a bird, landscape and mini abstracts. Each class will have demonstrations and a class project. All you need to bring is a willingness to experiment and have fun! Classes are meant to help develop your creative ideas in a playful and imaginative way.
Price: $120 includes supplies
Time: 1pm - 3 pm

March 16 + 17, 2024
Lets Create 2! Exploring layering in abstract acrylic painting!
Focuses on adding layers into your artwork by using stencils, saran wrap, collage, simple gel transfers and applying translucent paint using a glazing gloss medium. Students will take home two canvases, and explore how to move forward on a stuck piece of artwork.
Price: $95 + $40 for supplies

Art + Abstraction
This will be a playful class where we break free of conventional painting and is ideal for beginners who are curious about abstract art, pattern making and color. Students will leave with 2 canvases: (5x7 mini canvas to warm up on, playing with patterns and shapes) (8 x10 project canvas)

Lets create 3! Playing with textures & designs- abstract painting !
The focus this weekend will be to discover different mediums to create texture within acrylic painting. Work on an abstract animal and a pure abstract using patterns and creating textures on the canvas to produce something unique. Students will take home two 11 x 14 paintings, and explore different ways to use:

Painting Watercolor Flowers
​
Explore the delicate world of watercolors and watercolor pencils while painting outside the lines to create atmospheric, abstract and interpretive flowers. Transcribe your feeling into brush strokes as you make marks and add water.

Fall 2024
Introduction to abstract acrylic and mixed media painting
Dates: TWO INTENSIVE WORKSHOP
Time: 10 – 3 (includes a 30 min lunch break)
Total instruction time = 9 hours.
Cost: $150 + $50 supplies (students only bring a mixed media notebook)

Join me for this weekend to explore acrylic and mixed media techniques. Discover basic skills to develop more harmonious abstract art pieces. This class is meant to inspire you to be able to leave with some fundamental art design principals so you can play more confidently at home. Learn how to use a color wheel, paint in values and create paintings using geometrical shapes.
​
Level: Absolute beginner, beginner students that may be familiar with other art practices or people that have been away from painting for awhile. This class is a good introduction for anyone looking to explore abstract art and looking to develop a bit more confidence with the whole painting process.
